How Sightline Windows & Doors Came to Miramar
We opened this branch in 2012, the same year the parent brand did, because we had already been living here and watching the market. Sonia Raman was working project management for a regional builder at the time, handling window specs for developments going up along Miramar Parkway and in the newer sections of Silver Lakes. What she kept seeing was a gap between what got sold and what got installed. Sales teams would quote one thing, the crew would show up with another, and the homeowner was left holding a change order for something that should have been in the original scope.
The moment that stuck with us happened in late 2011. A homeowner in Monarch Lakes called the builder’s warranty line in tears. Her impact-rated patio door had been sold as “hurricane ready,” but the installation crew had skipped the proper fastening schedule for the Mullock frame, and the first seasonal pressure test revealed daylight around the jamb. Three other companies had quoted her a full replacement. Sonia Raman went out herself, documented the actual deficiency with photos and a moisture meter, and had it corrected for the cost of the proper hardware kit and a half-day of labor. The homeowner asked why nobody else had offered that option. The honest answer: most operations are structured to sell products, not solve problems.
That was the decision. We would bring the Sightline model to Miramar - the measured survey you keep, the written price that does not move, the documented record of what we actually found. Independently owned and operated, working to the Haven Standard that the brand had built. We started with one measured survey pad and a truck. The name Sightline mattered to us from the first day. In glazing, the sightline is the visible edge of glass inside the frame - the part you actually see, the part you are paying for. One word that means the same thing to the installer and the homeowner. That precision is what we wanted to offer this market.
Sonia Raman’s Personal Connection to the Windows & Doors Trade
Sonia Raman did not come to this work through a family business or a vocational program. She came to it through buildings - specifically, through figuring out why buildings failed in ways that the drawings said they should not. Her first job out of school was assisting a forensic architect in Miami-Dade, climbing scaffolding to document water intrusion in stucco assemblies, taking core samples of rotted sill plates, writing reports that lawyers would later read aloud in depositions. The work smelled like calcium chloride tests and damp OSB. It felt like detective work with a tape measure.
What she noticed was how often the window or door was the breach point, and how rarely the installation was examined with the same rigor as the product itself. A $4,000 impact window fails the same way a $400 one does if the sill pan is not flashed correctly. She started spending evenings in the Florida Building Code, tracing the path of water management from the rough opening to the exterior finish. She bought her first glazing hammer from a retiring tradesman in Hialeah who taught her to set a bead of sealant so it filled the gap without squeezing out - “the joint should look like it grew there,” he said. She still has that hammer. The handle is worn smooth where her palm sits.
If she were not doing this, she would probably be back in some version of that forensic work, or teaching building science to people entering the trades. What gets her out of bed is the moment in a job when the homeowner understands what they are actually looking at. The glazed edge. The sightline. The difference between a quote and a scope. After more than a decade of this, she still takes the photos herself on the first visit, and she still writes the notes that become the customer’s copy of the measured survey.
Meet Sonia Raman - The Person Behind Every Job

Sonia Raman is the Owner and Founder of Sightline Windows & Doors Miramar. She holds state licensure for window and door installation in Florida and has completed manufacturer-certified training on ES Windows, ECO Window Systems, and Therma-Tru entry systems. She does not manage from an office. She is on-site for the measured survey, she reviews every written quote before it goes out, and she inspects completed jobs against the photo record taken at the first visit.
What separates her from a corporate franchise technician is that she built this branch herself, she knows the Miramar market’s specific conditions - the south-facing exposure patterns in Sunset Lakes, the HOA requirements in Riviera Isles, the wind-borne debris zones that affect product selection east of I-75 - and she answers to the customer, not to a district manager. She is also stubborn about documentation. Every customer gets their measured survey in writing. Every crew member working under this name is required to hold the license and insurance the state requires, with license numbers available on request.
Outside of work, she restores vintage fishing reels - the kind of precision mechanical work that rewards patience and punishes shortcuts. That same standard applies to how she runs this business. Her direct commitment to every customer is simple: the price you are quoted is the price you pay, and the work is documented start to finish.
Before
AfterOur Promise to Miramar Homeowners
Our values are organized under the Haven Standard, which governs how every Sightline branch operates. Each clause is a specific promise with a specific mechanism behind it.
Clause 1: Have it in writing. Every job starts with a flat price, a written scope of work, and a written warranty document, before anyone starts. This is not a slogan. It is the reason the brand was founded - because the founder had spent a decade watching other companies’ sales promises diverge from their installation realities. We name the price range on the page, in dollars, because a customer researching at 10 PM deserves that information.
Clause 2: Arrive on schedule. A real window of time, a named technician, and a text when they are on the way. We do not offer four-hour windows that stretch to six. Our hours are Monday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and we schedule within that frame with the specificity we would want ourselves.
Clause 3: Verified crews. Every professional working under our name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. We do not make claims about employment status we cannot verify on demand. We verify what the law requires, and we make that documentation available to the customer.
Clause 4: Evidence on every job. Photos and readings of what we actually found. Not what we felt about it. What the moisture meter showed, what the level read, what the thermal imaging revealed. The customer receives this documentation.
Clause 5: No surprises. No door upsell, no scope creep, no “while we are in here.” If we find something outside the quoted scope, we document it, we explain it, and we quote it separately before proceeding. The original written price does not move unless the customer initiates a change.
These are not abstract values. They are the operating system of this branch, and they are how we have completed every job since 2012.
Our Credentials

- State-licensed for window and door installation in Florida. License number available on request.
- Insured & bonded for residential and commercial work. Policy documentation available on request.
- Years of local experience serving Miramar and surrounding communities since 2012.
- Strong local reputation built on documented work and customer-retained records, not marketing claims.
Each of these matters because you are hiring someone to work inside your home, on the envelope that keeps weather out and conditioned air in. A state license means this work has been reviewed against Florida’s building code, including the wind-borne debris provisions that govern our region. Insurance and bonding protect your property if something goes wrong during the job. Local experience means we have worked in your specific conditions - the humidity cycles, the HOA architectures, the permit offices in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. And a reputation built on documentation means you can verify what was promised against what was delivered, not rely on a star rating that may or may not reflect your specific job.
We are also part of a national family of brands that has fitted more than 18,000 windows and doors since 2012. Every one of those jobs started with a written price and left a documented record. The buying power of that network keeps our material costs honest. The Haven Standard keeps our practices consistent. The local branch - this branch - keeps the work personal.
Rooted in Miramar
We live here. We measure jobs in the same neighborhoods where we grocery shop. We have worked in the townhomes along Miramar Boulevard, the single-family builds in Huntington, the retrofits in older sections of Pembroke Pines that are upgrading from original 1980s sliders. We know which developments have strict architectural review boards and which permit through the city directly. We have adjusted installation schedules around the traffic patterns of Flamingo Road and the school-year rhythms of families in our service area.
Our service territory includes Miramar, Pembroke Pines, Miami Lakes, Cooper City, Miami Gardens, Hialeah Gardens, Hialeah, Davie, Weston, Hollywood, Doral, and Plantation. We do not pretend to be from everywhere. We are from here, working to a standard that travels well.
